This season, I made the switch over to Evan’s Waterless Coolants, after having concerns about detonation and localized boiling within my V8. While I’d never had overheating issues with the car before, we were struggling to keep the temperature down around the short custom circuits, where airflow is minimal, and often had temperatures rising further once we were off the track.
Evan’s have been in the coolant business for many years, and is very popular in the US and Australia for a lot of off-road, classic, and high strung race vehicles. The product that I ended up choosing was the NPG+, which is a propylene glycol mixture containing no water at all.
